Saint Rose of Lima Catholic School’s Prekindergarten program provides a warm, engaging, and stimulating experience for preschool-aged children in a Catholic Christian context. They are guided in a wide variety of creative activities that foster individual development in a gentle and loving learning environment.
Your prekindergarten child spends his or her days in a loving, engaging environment with a teacher, helpers, and curriculum specialists who have dedicated themselves to stimulating and fostering your child’s intellectual, emotional, social, and physical development, and planting seeds of faith.
Watch Mrs. Stanke discuss our program.
• Parent volunteers help plan and assist with activities and parties as we celebrate holidays throughout the year.
•Our annual Christmas and spring concerts give us a chance to shine while displaying our singing and performance skills.
•Four-year-old prekindergarten students are paired with older Saint Rose students in our school’s Spirit Partner Program and enjoy fellowship and activities together throughout the year.
•Prekindergarten students will enjoy time with our specials curriculum teachers and engage in Spanish, computer, physical education, and art activities.
Gathering: We start our day by saying a prayer, participating in calendar activities, and getting our bodies moving with dancing and singing.
Center Time: We take part in thematic projects and activities dealing with the Letter of the Week. During center time, we develop important academic and life skills and practice pro-social interaction with our peers and teachers.
Group Time: Daily group time provides us with opportunities to engage in age-appropriate skill development through stimulating and fun games and activities.
Snack: As we share a nutritious snack together, we take a break from all of the fun and learning to refuel our growing bodies.
Book/Puzzle Time: After our snack, we wind down our bodies and build our brains by looking at books and completing puzzles.
Get Ready to Go: Getting ready to go at the end of our day is more than just putting on our jackets; it’s a time for developing self-help skills and learning important steps in sequences.
Outside/Gym Time: At the end of our day, we head outside or into our gym in order to enjoy some exercise, free time, and play with our friends.
